Mini Tribute: Character Actor Otis Harlan

Born December 29, 1865 Character Actor Otis Harlan!

Character Actor Otis Harlan appeared in over 130 films from the Silent through the Sound era, but he is probably best know as the voice of Happy in Walt Disney‘s 1937 animated classic, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Harlan was also the voice of Mr. Mole in Bambi!

    Funny. He was the opposite of Scotty Mattraw. Harlan had prominent speaking roles in smaller films, while Mattraw had extra and bit part roles in larger films.

    I think Harlan was a joy to watch in his movies. His gentle face, his voice, his sincere, mellow charm. Even in ‘I Can’t Escape’ he played a likeable gangster.
