Classic Movie Coincidence: Ethel Merman, Katy Jurado and Ernest Borgnine

Well, here’s something a little different than our usual Classic Movie Coincidences…

Both Ethel Merman and Katy Jurado share a birthday today, January 16 (born in 1908 and 1924 respectively). Both of them were also married to Ernest Borgnine.

Katy Jurado was married to Borgnine from December 31, 1959 to June 3, 1963. It was the 2nd marriage for both of them.

Ethel Merman was Borgnine’s 3rd wife (and he was Merman’s 4th husband). They were married on June 27, 1964, but the marriage was dissolved after 32 days, and the couple were divorced on November 18, 1964.
