MINI BIO:
Tall, dignified, light-haired, mustachioed British actor who went to Hollywood in 1914 and spent more than 40 years in films playing men whose opinions had to be respected, even when, as was often the case, they were under pressure. After hitting the limelight with his portrait of Jesus in the 1927 version of King of Kings, he kept acting almost to the end of his long life. Nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in the 1937 version of Lost Horizon.
