Edgar Kennedy Overview:

Character actor, Edgar Kennedy, was born Edgar Livingstone Kennedy on Apr 26, 1890 in Lake San Antonio, CA. Kennedy died at the age of 58 on Nov 9, 1948 in Woodland Hills, CA .

MINI BIO:

Edgar Kennedy was a rotund American comedian whose featured roles in big films were usually over the top (often as dim detectives), but who proved a useful sounding-board for Laurel and Hardy, popping up in their world mostly as cops, but perhaps most memorably as gouty Uncle Edgar crammed into the back seat of a car in Perfect Day. He called his double-take reaction to their antics a "slow burn" and in between using it, directed them once or twice as well. The "Mr Average Man" series of shorts in which he starred in, ran from 1931 until his death from throat cancer.
