MINI BIO:

American actor with dark, thinning hair and "continental villain" looks. After star roles in local repertory, he toured French, Italian, Spanish, and Swiss theatre before consolidating a hitherto sporadic Hollywood career in post-war years. From 1946, he started playing vicious or frightened little men regularly in movies, actually appearing once as a character called "Short and Thin;" although 5 feet 9 inches, his slight build could make him on occasion seem less. Amazingly, he was still around on the acting scene in roles both sizeable and tiny well into his eighties; he had his first film lead at 70 in the 1973 film Homebodies. His liberal politics caused him to be briefly blacklisted in the late 1950s. Died from a heart attack.

Walter Brown: You're under arrest.
Vincent Yost: For what?
Walter Brown: Attempted bribery.
Vincent Yost: Bribery? Heh - you'd never make it stick. I'm a sales executive for the Midwest Equipment Company, Chicago. I've never even gotten as much as a parking ticket.
