Her best known films include Words and Music (1948), Take Me Out To The Ball Game (1949), Neptune's Daughter (1949), On the Town (1949), and My Sister Eileen (1955). Garrett is also known for her television roles as Archie Bunker's liberal neighbor Irene Lorenzo on All in the Family (1973-1975) and landlady Edna Babish on Laverne & Shirley (1976-1981). Garrett died at the age of 91 on Feb 12, 2011 in Los Angeles, CA and was laid to rest in n/a Cemetery.

Betty Garrett was a singer, dancer and comedienne whose musical career was taking great strides towards stardom when it was stopped cold by the Communist witch-hunt and never regained impetus. She was married to actor Larry Parks from 1944 until his death in 1975.
