From 1936 to 1942 Gladys George was the queen of Hollywood's brassy blondes with hearts of gold. They had seen better days and they never got the hero - but they usually stole the picture. Nominated for an Academy Award (and unlucky not to win it) for Valiant is the Word for Carrie, she was married and divorced four times, and suffered from cancer in later years. Died from a brain hemorrhage.
