Glamorous brunette American star of cheerful and friendly manner who gave some solid performances in juicy roles towards the end of the forties after a small-parts start via the model and beauty queen route. Her looks became motherly rather early (like Rosemary DeCamp), but she found a successful second career as Della Street in the long-running Perry Mason series on TV from 1957 to 1965, for which she won an Emmy award in 1959. Married Bill Williams in 1946. Mother of William Katt.
