Legendary actress, Joan Bennett, was born Joan Geraldine Bennett on Feb 27, 1910 in Palisades, NJ. Bennett died at the age of 80 on Dec 7, 1990 in Scarsdale, NY and was laid to rest in Pleasant View Cemetery in Lyme, New London County, CT.

MINI BIO:

Exquisitely beautiful, dark-haired (initially blonde) American socialite actress, sister of Constance Bennett. She gave her best performances in several Fritz Lang films of the forties, but her later film appearances were restricted after a shooting scandal involving her agent and her third (of four) husband, Walter Wanger - under whose auspices she did most of her best and most intense work. Died from a heart attack.

She was honored with one star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Motion Pictures. Bennett was never nominated for an Academy Award.

Joan Bennett Facts
Her grandfather, Morris W. Morris (an actor known as Lewis Morrison on stage), was of English and well-off Spanish ancestry. Joan Bennett spoke of this, in detail, in her 1970 autobiography "The Bennett Playbill". Morris had also served as a lieutenant during the Civil War.

Joan sang in films with her own voice; she was never dubbed.
