Lewis Howard Facts
This young actor died a tragic death at this own hands. Seeing his career in decline he went into a Broadway shooting gallery and began to shoot the clay pigeons. Before a crowd of witnesses he turned the gun under his own chin and pulled the trigger. The newspaper report stated that he tossed two notes into the air just before shooting himself. One note was a suicide note and the second left instructions for his funeral. Unfortunately, he survived the shooting and begged the witnesses to finish him off. He died in a hospital later the same night.

Enlisted in the U.S. Army as a private on 14 August 1942 during World War II.
