Warm, bouncy, extrovert, tawny-haired British comedy actress, daughter of Sir Michael Redgrave and sister of Vanessa Redgrave. Her appeal was somewhere between Joyce Grenfell and Pauline Collins. Her Georgy Girl, which won her an Academy Award nomination, was a tragi-comic tour-de-force. But after that the cinema seemed to see her as tarts-with-hearts, and she seldom received roles in films that emphasized her individual appeal. Academy Award nominee for Gods and Monsters.
