MINI BIO:
Playing dumb, made Nat Pendleton one of the most popular American supporting actors of the 1930s. Tall, dark and handsome in a faintly bemused-looking way, Pendleton, brother of actor Gaylord Pendleton, was in reality an Olympic wrestling champion and all-around smart guy with a college degree. In films, however, he was soon playing dim hoodlums and other characters with more brawn than brain to whom the truth dawned but slowly. When demands for his services declined in the post-war period, he slipped away from show business into early retirement. He died from a heart attack.
