The Hall of Great Western Performers at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum honors and memorializes the men and women who have, through their exemplary lives, careers, and achievements, embodied and perpetuated the heritage of the American West. Through their outstanding individual works in film, television and stage works, inductees have kept the American West in the public's collective eye, thus perpetuating its legacy and enduring mythology.

The Hall of Great Western Performers is a Hall of Fame at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, U.S.A. It is sometimes referred to as the "Western Performers Hall of Fame". It is a 4,000 square foot (370 m?) presentation that explores the various ways the west has been interpreted in literature and film.

Honoring Western performers who have contributed to the making and preservation of the stories and legends of the West, the gallery also displays a presentation of the museum's extensive collection of memorabilia, including the John Wayne collection of personal firearms and artwork. Significant, biographically associated artifacts, from the 101 Ranch Wild West Show to more recent Western films are part of the extensive holdings of movie posters and portraits.

About The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum: It is a museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with more than 28,000 Western and American Indian art works and artifacts. The facility also has the world's most extensive collection of American rodeo, photographs, barbed wire, saddlery, and early rodeo trophies. Museum collections focus on preserving and interpreting the heritage of the American West. The museum becomes an art gallery during the annual Prix de West Invitational Art Exhibition and Sale each June. The Prix de West Artists sell original works of art as a fund raiser for the Museum. The expansion and renovation was designed by Curtis W. Fentress, FAIA, RIBA of Fentress Architects.
