The Jungle Book (1967) was a Animation - Adventure Film directed by Wolfgang Reitherman and produced by Walt Disney.
SYNOPSIS
The 17th animated feature produced by Disney studios and the last film supervised by Walt Disney himself, this endearing feature is based on Rudyard Kipling's story about a boy named Mowgli raised by wolves in the wilderness of India. During his delightfully scary adventures with a series of wild creatures, Mowgli learns he must leave the jungle and be what nature intended him to be - a man. Delightful jazz-inspired songs, including "Trust In Me," I Wanna Be Like You," and "Bare Necessities," make this a Disney classic. The 30th Anniversary Limited Edition includes a featurette entitled The Making of the Jungle Book and a songbook featuring lyrics from the soundtrack.

Facts about
Walt Disney died during production of this film. Many people wondered at what the studio's fate would be, particularly the animation division. The film performed extremely well at the box office, ensuring that the animators would not be put out of work. Had the film failed, it is likely that animation would have been closed down at the Disney studio.
Although it is unverified, some of the animation sequences used for the wolf mother and pups appear to be reused from One Hundred and One Dalmatians, just colored differently. The motions of the wolf pups leaning on the tree log, for example, compared to three of the dalmatians on the arm of the chair in Cruella Deville's mansion.
