Submarine Patrol Overview:

Submarine Patrol (1938) was a Adventure - Black-and-white Film directed by John Ford and produced by Darryl F. Zanuck and Gene Markey.

Ford's WWI seagoing adventure follows the inexperienced crew of S-599, one of the submarine chasers that set sail from Brooklyn in 1917 on a mission to track down U-boats. Navy man Foster gets demoted into his command of the questionably seaworthy freighter, and the even less promising crew, including playboy Greene. He gets them in shape and all hands are on deck for depth-charging the U-boats.
