Shortly after the film's release, Abbott and Costello appeared on The Colgate Comedy Hour and did a sketch in which they attended the film's premiere.
The title is really a misnomer since the rocket ship actually travels to the planet Venus.
Miss Sweden of 1950, Anita Ekberg, makes an early career appearance as one of the guards on the planet Venus.
