William Hervey Allen (December 8, 1889 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ? December 28, 1949 Coconut Grove, Florida) was an American author.

Allen is best known for his work Anthony Adverse.

The 1936 film adaptation of Anthony Adverse was directed by Mervyn LeRoy and starred Fredric March and Olivia de Havilland.
