Legendary actor, Sammy Davis Jr., was born Samuel George Davis on Dec 8, 1925 in Harlem, NY. Davis Jr. died at the age of 64 on May 16, 1990 in Beverly Hills, CA .


Dynamic, pint-sized American singer and actor who described himself as "the first one-eyed Jewish negro" and often gave performances twice as large as the part demanded. On stage as a child, he lost an eye in a car crash in 1954, just before coming to Hollywood. Films could never really restrain him, and he remained at his best as a nightclub performer. Married (second of three) to Swedish actress May Britt (1934-). Died from cancer of the throat.
