Mitzi Gaynor Overview:

Legendary actress, Mitzi Gaynor, was born Francesca Marlene de Czanyi von Gerber on Sep 4, 1931 in Chicago, IL. As of December 2023, Mitzi Gaynor was 92 years old.


Long-legged singing and dancing star with peppy personality and lots of snap and crackle. A teenage stage star, she was signed by Fox at 20, but didn't quite make the top musical rank, despite some fizzy performances. South Pacific seemed to give her a second chance, but she was more fizzle than fizz as Nellie Forbush, and thereafter performed mainly for night-clubs and TV. Recently, a racy columnist and commentator on the showbiz nostalgia scene.

She was honored with one star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Motion Pictures. Gaynor was never nominated for an Academy Award.
