Character actor, Mickey Shaughnessy, was born Joseph Michael Shaughnessy on Aug 5, 1920 in New York City, NY. Shaughnessy died at the age of 65 on Jul 23, 1985 in Cape May Court House, NJ .


Fast-talking, aggressive American actor, built like a little tank. After war service, he became a nightclub singer, then mixed comedy with the singing. Became a well-known film face as the serviceman who has his swear-words "fluffed out" on the soundtrack in Don't Go Near the Water. Disappeared into television after 1970. Died from lung cancer.
