Legendary actress, Lilli Palmer, was born Lilli Marie Peiser on May 24, 1914 in Posen, Prussia. Palmer died at the age of 71 on Jan 27, 1986 in Los Angeles, CA .

Beautiful, full-lipped, dark-haired German actress (born in Prussia) who began her film career in Britain, offering appealing, emotional appearances that usually had more depth than those around her. Went to Hollywood for some years during an eventful marriage (1943-1957) to first husband Rex Harrison. After it was over, she made films in Britain, Germany, France, and Spain. Her beauty wore well, and she remained in leading roles into her late forties. Later became a best-selling author. Married Argentinian-born actor Carlos Thompson (Juan C. Mundanschaffer, 1916-1990) in 1957. Died from cancer. Her husband shot himself four years after her death.

Took her surname from an English actress she admired.

An extremely gifted writer, Palmer's autobiography is entitled "Change Lobsters and Dance" (1976) and her 1978 novel "The Red Raven" -- about a European love triangle -- also received rave reviews.
