Facts about

Although set in the South Pacific, the film was actually filmed on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
This was the first of a three-picture deal between producer Howard W. Koch and Boris Karloff for which Karloff was to be paid $25,000 per film.
A nude bathing sequence was proposed for foreign release, but according to producer Howard W. Koch, it was not shot.
