"Lux Radio Theater" broadcast a 60 minute radio adaptation of the movie onDecember 14, 1953 with Esther Williams and Walter Pidgeon reprising their film roles.

Esther Williams broke her neck diving off a 50-foot tower during the sequence in which she wears a golden swimming costume. She spent six months in a body cast before recovering to complete the film.

Considered by many to be one of the best examples of Technicolor cinematography.

In an interview Esther Williams said that she met and spoke with Annette Kellerman before filming began while attempting to get Kellerman's approval of Williams in the lead role. After the meeting Kellerman gave her complete approval and said she was pleased with the casting choice.

The film that Annette Kellerman is making when she has an accident is titled Neptune's Daughter. In 1949, Esther Williams would make a film with the same title.
