In Universal's previous mummy films, the mummy was called "Kharis". In this film, the name of the mummy has been changed from "Kharis" to "Klaris."

On 25 November 1954, the day after filming completed, Abbott and Costello arrived in New York City to ride on the first float of the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Stuntman Eddie Parker who plays Klaris the mummy previously doubled Lon Chaney Jr. as Kharis in Universal's earlier Mummy films.

This was Bud Abbott and Lou Costello's 28th and final film for Universal Pictures , although Universal released a compilation film of clips from their films, titled The World of Abbott and Costello.

Though Bud Abbott's character in this film was named Peter Patterson and Lou Costello's character's name was Freddie Franklin, they addressed each other by their own, real names ("Heeeeey Abbott!") throughout the entire picture. The credits are the only place where their characters' names are used.
