Energetic, passionate French ballerina from Les Ballet des Champs Elysees whose phenomenal success in Carmen led to a brief Hollywood career in the 50s.
Has had a long, enduring professional and private relationship with dancer/choreographer Roland Petit who created Les Ballet des Champs Elysees, and who choreographed all of her Hollywood musicals. They first met each other when both were 9 years old and students at the Paris Opera Ballet school.
In her 60s, she toured with a rock band in "Zizi au Zenith."
Zizi Jeanmaire and her husband Roland Petit have a daughter, Valentine, born in 1955.
