Attended Roosevelt and Parker grade schools and then Northwest Junior High in Kansas City, Kansas, where she graduated with honors.
Competed in the Miss Universe contests as "Miss Omaha" in 1959.
Discovered for the movies and TV by Tab Hunter. The two met at a Del Mar horse show. Both Hunter and her aunt and uncle were exhibiting horses.
Father L. G. Trickett was one of pro golfers of Kansas City, Kansas during the 1930s and early 1940s. He later became an engineer for the Hinde and Dauche Paper Company in Omaha, Nebraska.
Once a chemistry major at Omaha University.
She ended her career following her divorce from her first husband. She returned to live in Omaha, Nebraska.
The eldest of five, she has two brothers and two sisters: Beth, Barry, Jeffrey and Amy.
