Her husband, Felix Hughes, was the younger brother of Rupert Hughes and the uncle of Howard Hughes.
She was one of the few women involved in the actual business end of the film industry at the time--she and actor Gilbert M. 'Broncho Billy' Anderson co-owned (with businessman George K. Spoor) the Essanay Films studio.
