"Rita's Rainbows" is a non-profit organization that was set up in memory of Rita's late granddaughter, and dedicated to the cause of helping children in need.
After raising a large family, she returned to work after her children were grown to join the staff at the Petroleum Club of Los Angeles. She eventually became Corporate Secretary and the first woman ever to serve on its Board of Directors.
