At the time of her death, she had over $5000 dollars in the bank. The amount was derived from investments she had made through film, oil, and real estate, which had been done in the early 1940s following her returning to her roots after MGM.
Following funeral services at The Atonement Lutheran Church she was interred at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Syracuse, New York.
From September 1939, until her death, she lived in wealth and splendor in the fashionable and affluent neighborhood of Meadowbrook.
Her writing of the script for "Remember Last Night?" (1935) was uncredited.
She never watched modern films from the 1950s onwards, citing them to be too tawdry and inappropriate.
She opened her own Drama Workshop in Syracuse through her Hollywood income and it was in operation from 1941 to 1979.
She registered as a Republican in 1931 and maintained an affiliation with the party until her death.
