Acquired his nickname during World War II, when he was serving with the Army in the Philippines, and kept the "cool" name when he jumpstarted his acting career.
Began his career singing and acting as a teenager and performed in USO shows during WWII.
His 26 minute Showtime TV pilot "Gina & Me" which he produced, wrote, directed and starred in, won an award at the Las Vegas Film Festival.
In later years he had a real estate business in Southern California's San Fernando Valley.
