Silent screen leading lady, former Ziegfeld Follies girl of 1920. She was the daughter of an architect father and an opera star mother. A noted red-headed, green-eyed beauty of her day, she briefly worked as a journalist, then made her stage debut in 'Floradora', appearing on screen from 1922. Though she took vocal lessons, her career in talking pictures never took off. Tried an unsuccessful comeback on the Broadway stage in the mid-1930s.
