Durably handsome actor of rugged films and TV, a child performer on radio and stage. Best remembered trading quips with James Garner's "Bret Maverick", as less laid-back brother, "Bart Maverick", in the late 1950s TV series, "Maverick" (1957).
Former brother-in-law of Fred Jackman Jr. and Edmond O'Brien.
He ran for city council and won the first of two four-year term in 1980.
