When the original Dead End Kids left the Broadway production of Sidney Kingsley's "Dead End" to make the movie version, Dead End (1937), Harris Berger replaced Huntz Hall in the stage role of Dippy. Later Harris and Huntz appeared together in several movies: Angels with Dirty Faces (1938), Call a Messenger (1939), 0032533, Junior G-Men (1940), and You're Not So Tough (1940)
