Father of James Badge Dale, who played the role of Simon in Lord of the Flies (1990), and is also the husband of actress Anita Morris who died of cancer in 1994.
Was twice nominated for Broadway's Tony Award: in 1970 as Best Choreographer for "Billy;" and in 1975 as Best Director (Musical) for "The Magic Show."
