Gabrielle and her husband, Hrothgar Mathews, have a son, Liam.

Gained 15 pounds for her role in The Sweet Hereafter (1997).

Her grandfather wrote for the musical stage in England, and her father was a child actor there. Eventually Gabrielle returned to England herself to study acting.

In 2000, she added her voice to a Canadian Heritage Moment commercial for the Terrace massacre.
