As a 17 year-old fashion model, she was spotted by a Warner Brothers talent scout and cast in the chorus line of the musical 'Dames' (1934). Subsequently, she became a prolific small part actress, usually appearing as cigarette or hat check girls, secretaries or nightclub singers.
