He and his wife Jean Harvey were owners of a movie horse named Goldie who performed as Kit Carson's horse Apache in "The Adventures of Kit Carson" (1951) television series.
In several episodes of "The Gene Autry Show" (1950) Harvey delivered his lines in a parody of Lenny in "Of Mice and Men".
