He appeared in two different adaptations of Charles Dickens's 1861 novel "Great Expectations": "Great Expectations" (1959) and "Great Expectations" (1981). He played Herbert Pocket in the former and Mr Wemmick in the latter.
He has two sons - Barney and Saul.
Retired from acting after appearing in "To Play the King" (1993).
