Catherine Schell

Catherine Schell

Had a brother named Peter Freiherr Schell von Bauschlott (1941-1968).

She was the first actress considered for the role of Captain Kathryn Janeway in "Star Trek: Voyager" (1995). However Canadian actress Geneviève Bujold was cast in that role, only to resign after two days of filming because she was not used to the demands of a weekly TV series. The role finally went to American actress Kate Mulgrew, a seasoned actress.

Sister-in-law of Hildegard Knef.

Through her German great-grandfather, she is a great-niece of King Louis XIV of France, Philippe II, Duke of Orléans, 7th Prime-Minister of France, and Franz I & II & III, 50th Holy Roman Emperor and 8th Grand-Duke of Tuscany and former Duke of Lorraine.

Younger sister of Paul von Schell.
