Father was American, mother was Filipina.
Started in showbiz with Excelsior Films in 1938. She did two films, Mahiwagang binibini (1938) and Arimunding-munding (1938). The following year, she moved to Sampaguita, where she was made a contract star, and starred in most films until 1964.
