Died at age 94 at the Motion Picture and TV Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, CA.

Early career included work as a model, puppeteer and radio announcer.

Longstanding character actor whose steely looks and polished air had him playing high-ranking officers, police chiefs and, in particular, judges (frequently for TV's "Perry Mason" during the 1950s and 1960s).

One time played semi-pro basketball in a league that included the original Harlem Globetrotters.

Served in WWII and performed in the Pacific Theater during his tour of duty.
