Has son Christian Halsey Solomon (b. 1961, producer) with actress Luciana Paluzzi. Has son Clayton Halsey (b. 1967, editor and actor) and daughter Nicole Brühl (b. 1970) with actress Heidi Brühl.
In July 2007, he was a guest at the Western Film Fair in Charlotte, North Carolina along with Betty Lynn, Jacqueline Scott, Lynn Borden, Lana Wood, Joyce Meadows, Rick Lenz and Robert Dix.
