Brother of the late Canadian newscaster J. Frank Willis
He was awarded the C.M. (Member of the Order of Canada) on May 1, 2002 for his services to performing arts in Canada.
Originally to have played the role of CIA agent Felix Leiter in Goldfinger (1964), but at the last minute he was given the smaller role of Simmons.
