Fred Newmeyer originally directed this film, but most or all of his work was scrapped, and Robert McGowan took over.
The first official series title was "Hal Roach's Rascals." But the series also came to be known as "The Our Gang Comedies" simply because the name of this film caught on so well with the trade press and exhibitors who saw the preview. (Of course, the best-known title, "The Little Rascals," came decades later when the series was shown on television. And note a coincidence: Century Comedies released a film the same year "Our Gang" was launched called The Little Rascal.)
This film is presumed lost (apart from a surviving fragment). Please check your attic.
This was the first movie in the "Hal Roach's Rascals" series to be filmed, and the third to be released.
