According to John Glen's memoirs, Juilan Glover was the first person to suggest Pierce Brosnan as a potential Bond in 1980.

Alumni of the Royal Acadamy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, England.

Attended Bristol Grammar School in Bristol, England, where he was in the same class as actor Timothy West. "Darth Vader" actor David Prowse was also in the same year there.

Auditioned for the role of James Bond in the 1960s. Later played a villain in the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only (1981).



Began acting with the National Youth Theatre.

Half-brother of musician Robert Wyatt (they share the same mother).

He and Michael Sheard co-starred as imperial officers in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980). Both went on to play villains in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) nine years later: Glover as Walter Donovan and Sheard as Adolf Hitler. In both films, Harrison Ford played one of the protagonists.

He is the only actor to appear in the "Star Wars", "James Bond" and "Indiana Jones" film franchises (Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980), For Your Eyes Only (1981) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)) respectively. On all three occasions, he played a villain.

His performance in the title role of the Royal Shakespeare Company's staging of "Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2", at the Barbican Centre in London, earned him the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in 1993.

Played General Maximillian Veers in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980). This character later appeared in several Star Wars related video games, in which the role was played by his son, Jamie Glover.

Thought suitable for the main guest lead of Thawn in "Doctor Who: The Power of Kroll" (1978).
