H.E. Aitken

Along with John R. Freuler, he founded the distribution outlet the Western Film Exchange on July 23, 1906.

Founded the Continental Feature Film Corp. in 1914.

Founded the Film Supply Co. in 1911.

Founded the Majestic Motion Picture Co. in 1911.

Founded the Mutual Film Co. in 1912.



Founded Tri-Stone Pictures in 1923.

In 1915, with brother Roy Aitken and partners Adam Kessel and Charles Baumann, started the Triangle Film Corp., which produced films by such directors as D.W. Griffith and Mack Sennett and such stars as Lillian Gish and Douglas Fairbanks.

Is portrayed by Jim Broadbent in And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself (2003) (TV)

One of the founders of the American Film Mfg. Co., which later became the American Film Co., a major production company in the late 1910s and early 1920s, which began in Chicago but eventually set up shop in Santa Barbara, California.

Used to be a real estate agent.
