Serafin: You know, it isn't essential for you to love me for you to join the troupe. It-it helps, but it isn't essential.

It's Always Fair Weather

It's Always Fair Weather

Ted Riley: I'm mixed up with some of the shadiest characters in town. As a matter of fact, knowing the inspiring and uplifting work you do on this program, I - I feel terrible showing my face in decent homes across the country. Boys, don't be like me. Live clean. Use Klenzrite.

It's Always Fair Weather

Ted Riley: Look lady, if you'll excuse, you don't have to hang around with me all evening. I wish I didn't have to hang around with myself.

Brigadoon

Brigadoon

Tommy Albright: [miserable] Why do you have to *lose* something, to find out what it *really* means?

Henry Drummond: Ever been in love Hornbeck?
E. K. Hornbeck: Only with the sound of my own words, thank God.

Inherit the Wind

Inherit the Wind

Henry Drummond: You know, Hornbeck, I'm getting damn sick of you.
E. K. Hornbeck: Why?
Henry Drummond: You never pushed a noun against a verb except to blow up something.
E. K. Hornbeck: You know, that's a typical lawyer's trick - accusing the accuser.
Henry Drummond: What am I accused of?
E. K. Hornbeck: Contempt of conscience, sentimentality in the first degree.

Manuela: For the last time, I do not love you! I know you find it hard to believe, but I do not love you! Will you go away now?
Serafin: You know, it's not essential to love me to be in the troop. It helps but it's not essential.
Manuela: Go away!
Serafin: [leaves to go out window] Fine. Good bye!
Manuela: Not that way! You'll kill yourself.
Serafin: You do care, Manuela!
Manuela: No I don't!
Serafin: Yes you do! You love me! You love me!

Singin' in the Rain

Singin' in the Rain

Kathy: Are you sure it's all right? Being seen with me?
Don Lockwood: You mean lofty star with humble player?
Kathy: Not exactly, but for lunch don't you usually tear a pheasant with Miss Lamont?
Don Lockwood: Kathy, all the stories about Lina and me are sheer publicity.
Kathy: Oh? It certainly seems more than that. From all those columns in the newspapers and articles in the fan magazines...
Don Lockwood: You read the fan magazines?
Kathy: I pick them up at the beauty parlor or the dentist's office, just like anybody.
Don Lockwood: Really?
Kathy: Well... I buy four or five a month.
Don Lockwood: Four or five...
Kathy: But anyway, to get back to the point, you and Miss Lamont do achieve a certain intimacy in all your pictures...
Don Lockwood: Did you say *all* our pictures?
Kathy: I guess if I think about it I've seen eight or nine of them.
Don Lockwood: You know I remember someone saying, "If you've seen one you've seen 'em all".
Kathy: I said some awful things that night, didn't I?
Don Lockwood: No. I deserved them. But I must admit I was hurt by them. So hurt in fact that I haven't been able to think about anything but you ever since.
