Martin Jurow Facts
He was also a very successful Broadway producer.

Lived for a number of years during the 1970s and 80s in Jefferson, Texas, near the birthplace of his wife. Produced at least one film in the town that starred his friend Eddie Bracken's daughter and premiered the film in nearby Marshall. Brought in several old film-star friends to meet local folk including Karl Malden. Moved to Dallas in 1971 and finished his law degree at SMU and practiced law in the Dallas County DA's office for a while. Had a syndicated radio show that told of his experiences in Hollywood and was writing a book on those years.

He graduated from the College of William and Mary, where he studied under drama coach Althea Hunt. In 1935, he graduated from Harvard Law School and passed the New York bar exam. His first job after graduating Harvard Law School was with the New York law firm of Nathan Burkan, a top entertainment lawyer whose clients included George M. Cohan, Mae West, Eddie Cantor and Al Jolson. He related his uniquely colorful experiences in his memoir, Marty Jurow Seein' Stars: A Show Biz Odyssey published by SMU Press in 2001.
