Charming, distinguished-looking pioneer actor of Edison silents who began freelancing in movies in 1907, signing with Edison in 1909. He and wife Mabel left the Edison fold briefly to join Majestic Studios but returned in 1912.
The British born actor (Oxford, England) and wife Mabel appeared together in scores of films and were considered Hollywood's preeminent movie twosome until eclipsed by star couple Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks.
