Plump, giggling, mischievous American comedian, Dom DeLuise, gradually built up a reputation on television, then became a familiar movie face through his appearances in Mel Brooks' films. He then became equally associated with the comedies of Burt Reynolds. At first he played dupes and bunglers, but later diversified his roles to include rogues and charlatans, all in the same broad vein. He was married to actress Carol Arthur from 1965 until his death in 2009.
